Learning Tool Measures Reactions to Organizational Change, Examines Behaviors

HRDQ presents Change Reaction –– Understanding Your Response to Organizational Change, a new learning instrument that helps identify a person’s typical reaction to change and offers action steps for embracing change.

The instrument answers a need for awareness in today’s workplace, as research indicates that organizations are in a continuous state of change and that some type of resistance is inevitable.

“Response to change is always active,” said CJ Proviano, MEd, HRDQ Senior Instructional Designer. “Depending on a person’s perception of the change, he or she will move toward, away from, or against change. The Change Reaction model summarizes behaviors into three reaction types — Supportive, Neutral, or Resistant.”

Change Reaction takes as little as one hour and includes a 24-item assessment, an explanation of the Change Reaction model and the behaviors linked to reactions, along with a self-scoring form, and sample diagrams of the possible profiles. In addition, the instrument provides a thought-provoking interpretive section and tips to help organizations and individuals gain support for change.

Packaged in a 3-ring binder, the Facilitator Guide features background theory, administrative and scoring guidelines, a workshop, activities, alternative training designs, and sample copy of the Participant Guide.
