Press Release for:

Surface Rover
HRDQ's Mars Surface
Rover Wins National Award
The Mars Surface
Rover, a leadership-training game developed by HRDQ, was just named
one of the year's 10 best new training products of 1995 by the editors
of Human Resource Executive magazine.
The magazine, which
holds a Top-10 Training Products contest each year, reported in its
September 1995 issue that the Mars Surface Rover is "... a
valuable exercise in team and leadership dynamics." Contest
entries were judged on "innovative presentation, uniqueness, the
quality of support materials, clarity of directions, and how well they
met their self-stated objectives."
The Mars Surface
Rover, an experiential, hands-on game, is designed to help newly
appointed team leaders realize the benefits of a facilitative
leadership style, and the drawbacks of more traditional forms of
leadership. The activity requires 3 groups of participants to
role-play as production teams as each build a prototype space vehicle
under one of three different forms of leadership: passive,
traditional, or facilitative. Then the teams race their finished
vehicles. Most often, the facilitative team - operating in an
environment of trust, cooperation, and open communication -
outperforms the others. The
Mars Surface Rover is available exclusively from HRDQ. If you
wish to receive more information about this game or any of HRDQ’s
other products and services, please contact our marketing team, via
e-mail at news@hrdq.com or via
telephone at 800.633.4533.
