Bankers, Healthcare Professionals, College Instructors,
and Others Improve Communication with 4-Word Language

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (November 3, 2005) –– Organizations in a wide range of industries are using simple terms derived from the work of Jung and Marston to communicate better. The HRDQ Style Series,™ based on the personality theories of the famed researchers, provides simple self-assessments and quick insight to start a group discussion about the four basic personal styles and what people can do to improve interaction.

"What’s My Leadership Style? enhances people's awareness of their leadership style and how they can adjust their style to the situations and people they work with in order to meet and exceed business objectives," said David Levine, Vice President and Director of Learning & Development for Citizens Bank of Massachusetts.

“Participants in my Style Series training sessions walk away with two important things: a common language and a process of leadership and coaching to drive their business success,” he added.

California-based training consultant Kerrie Halmi uses the What’s My Communication Style? assessment with clients in healthcare, banking, and insurance.

“The more I coach and train with the assessment, the more I see how valid it is. What gives it an advantage over other tools, such as the MBTI, is that it’s quick to administer and easy to grasp.”

The theoretical model for the Style Series, a collection of seven assessments and a group card game, illustrates the characteristics of four personality styles: Direct, Spirited, Systematic, and Considerate.

“The model is simple and lets you get into a lot of good conversation," said Les Helms a professor at Columbus State Community College and president of L&L Training Solutions Inc. Helms uses What’s My Communication Style? as both a professor and a consultant.

“The strength of the model is that it’s based on behavior: one can gauge someone’s style by the way they act. So many instruments out there are not behaviorally based.”

Glen Whipple also notes the Style Series’ model as a strength. The Illinois-based consultant uses the What’s My Style? assessment for training in project management, facilitation skills, and conflict management. His clients include organizations in the financial, government, and manufacturing sectors.

“It takes a complex psychological model and makes it actionable through a simple planning
process."
