Extended DISC®
Extended DISC provides individuals, teams, and organizations with an
easy-to-use electronic assessment tool for understanding personal
behavioral style. Based on the popular DISC theory developed in the
1920’s, Extended DISC has many applications, including leadership
and organization development, communication and interaction skills
training, customer service training, and more.
What makes the Extended DISC system so powerful is that several
customized reports, including Work Pair Analysis and Team Analysis,
can be generated from just one 10-minute Personal Analysis
assessment. As a result, individuals do not have to learn new
concepts, models, or terminology — saving you time, money, and
frustration!

behavioral style
- Compare one’s style with that of

Theory
Extended DISC is based on the work of Carl Jung and William M.
Marston. Below is the 4-quadrant model illustrating these
theories and personal behavioral styles:
The dimensions of Sensing and Intuiting, and Thinking and
Feeling are Jungian; the 4 quadrants are named after Marston’s
classifications.
The letters in DISC represent four basic personality styles:
|
D |
|
Dominance (Results
Oriented) |
|
I |
|
Influence (People Oriented) |
|
S |
|
Steadiness (Calm) |
|
C |
|
Conscientiousness (Precise) |
|
How it Works
Individuals respond to 24 sets of word pairs, selecting the pair
that is most and least like them, respectively. The data is used
to generate a fully customized, color Personal Analysis report.
The same data can then be used to create several different
reports and comparisons, including Team Analyses, Work-Pair
Analyses, and more. |

Extended DISC measures one's adjusted self — how
a person perceives he or she should adapt behavior in a specific
environment — as well as one's natural behavioral style. Because
it reveals both the conscious and unconscious styles, the
Extended DISC System provides powerful range of measurement and
a more comprehensive picture of personal style.
